Digital photography has this magical aspect as a medium. You see something in front of you and in an instant, you capture an image. Children take this concept of digital photography so easily for them to understand their surroundings that is a very important medium to not only use in classrooms, but as a method of archiving memories in a more visual existence. 

1. One connection I can think of for children is the idea of scavenger hunt, or looking around the world for clues, mainly when they are in elementary school. The idea that you make them look for clues, and come up with images that will lead them to the next clue, up until you see a gathering of images that leads them to a understanding of where things exist in the physical world, yet they can show you that they captured it, either with a mobile device, or a digital camera. 

2. Another crucial connection to children, very important is how digital photography becomes a language to become closer to other students in a social media. The existence of a social platform, mixed with images is what teenagers, and even children use all the time to express who they are. The images become vignettes of their characteristics, and digital photography lets them interact with more people around the world then it ever was possible. We get to underestimate the power of images because we have it in front of us all the time, but the reality is that adolescents and children need this visual creation in order to really look at what is in front of them. 

3. The third connection with digital photography is the magic. When I say magic is how instant it it, and how children can expand with it. We can search for images all over the world from one simple idea a child had in mind, even explain a question they asked and cannot answer so quickly. Life has become so visual. Anyone can take an image, even a two year old can understand, take images and see it when he grow older and know that there is a part of his memory when he was younger that could be captured in that age, just like magic.
